Choosing to homeschool your children is a hard decision and one that needs careful consideration.

It is not necessary for you to have a Masters in Education to home educate your own children.
You have the knowledge you need already, and what you don't know, boy do you learn right along with
your kids.
Do you know how to look things up in a dictionary?

Do you know how to read, write, and do math?
Then you can learn anything that they will need to learn!

Who knows them better than you do?
Who wants the 'most' for your children? You do right?
Then it is well worth the effort to homeschool.
It takes time, energy, and most of all a desire to give your children the best education that you can.

Homeschooling does not take the entire day like public school does, because you are not

fighting an entire classroom for time and attention, and changing classes constantly.

By teaching your children to learn HOW to learn they can do much better
and take less time with their lessons and gain more from them.
Study habits are the key factor in learning any subject and homeschooling
utilizes that more than the public schools do.
I found that our classroom time was anywhere from 2 to 5 hours a day!
Depending on what we were studying.

They they have time to study extra curricular subjects such as .... art,
music, home making, auto shop, wood and metal shop or any other area of life skills that
would be beneficial to learn.
The joy of watching them learn a new skill and then put it to
practical application is the greatest feeling!


The public will tell you that homeschooling will not give them the skills for socialization,this is not true!
You do have to make the effort to have your children in a group setting of some kind like homeschool sports, or your church's youth group.
I found I was into more youth activities with my sons after we
became homeschoolers, then before! Take an active part in these activities.
Ask your children what they would like to participate in.
Find a homeschool group in your local area and ask them what kind of events there are.

If you find that there are not many or any, then go the distance and start one of your own!

Homeschooling does NOT have to be expensive either, I homeschooled my 3 sons on
less than $600.00 per year! The cost has not gone up that much either!
Another thing is you won't be spending a truck load on school clothes, lunches, and supplies to
help outfit the rest of the school!
